Ever since Ludwig Maximilians Universität (LMU) was founded in 1472, the staff of the chancellery have recorded every student in the register. The resultant directory ranks among the most valuable records stored at the LMU University Library’s Historische Sammlungen (Historical Collections) department – not merely for the purpose of documentation, but also (and above all) because of the lives and stories behind the names.
The exhibition Names, Numbers, Narratives – 550 Years of Students and their Administrators at LMU showcases a selection of these treasures from the University Archive.
Organized in cooperation with the UniGalerieLMU.
